A Little Bit of Love Goes a Long Way

general care

dominique cohen jewelry has been designed and manufactured to the highest quality standards. each piece is individually hand-crafted by our team of artisans. therefore, small presentational differences within each piece are organic, and viewed as evidence of individualized artisanal hand-work. as 18k gold and sterling silver are relatively soft metal materials, periodic examination of all clasps, enhancer bail clasps, stone settings, and components are recommended to ensure long lasting enjoyment of each piece.

we recommend avoidance to exposing all of your jewelry to substances containing bleach or ammonia, direct sprays of perfume, hair chemicals or any toiletry lotions, creams or chemicals. we recommend that you adorn yourself with our jewels after you are fully dressed to avoid contact with any toiletry chemicals.

we recommend you remove your jewelry before swimming in chlorinated water.

we recommend using a suitably lined box or protective pouch to store all jewels. for heavy gold items, consider a home safe or other secure environment. to avoid scratches, individually store each piece of jewelry.

diamonds and gemstones

all gems vary in hardness and porosity. we recommend that you research online the porosity of the specific gemstone(s) in your collection. Be wary of chemical cleaning products; if you like, contact us before trying any chemical cleaners. The safest cleaning method is gently rubbing with a soft cotton cloth.

pearls

wear your pearls often: the natural oils from your skin actually enhances pearl lustre. That said, pearls are sensitive and porous; toiletry chemicals can discolor or otherwise damage pearl nacre. do not, for instance, apply or spray on body lotions, perfumes, hair sprays, or other chemicals when wearing your pearls.

Clean pearls by gently wiping or polishing with a soft cotton cloth. never use jewelry cleaning chemicals on pearls: the pearls will discolor and otherwise get damaged.

sterling noir

sterling noir is sterling silver metal with a black rhodium coating. chemical cleaners can damage the dark finish and so should be avoided. Instead, rub gently with a soft cotton cloth.

Enjoy.
